The purpose of the fuse box is to stop the electrical current if it becomes to strong, thereby avoiding an electrical fire. The wire harness carries the current from the engine back to the fuse box, usually found under the driver’s side dashboard. When power reaches the fuse box, it is then redirected to the various different electrical components of your car, including back to the engine, to the overhead light, to your instrument panel and to hundreds of other vital components.

The crankcase is located beneath the cylinder block. The crankcase protects the crankshaft and connecting rods from outside objects. The area at the bottom of a crankcase is called the oil pan and that’s where your engine’s oil is stored. Inside the oil pan, you’ll find an oil pump that pumps oil through a filter, and then that oil is squirted on to the crankshaft, connecting rod bearings, and cylinder walls to provide lubrication to the movement of the piston stroke. The oil eventually drips back down into the oil pan, only to begin the process again

Fusible Links, another kind of fuse, are used in many cars and are almost always found in the wiring harness in the engine compartment. These are molded, single-purpose links in the wire which are designed to melt under extreme conditions (usually a crash which might crush wires together, causing a huge short circuit). Your car's schematic will show their use and location.

Sometimes you install the kit in the dash, then slide the new stereo's metal mounting sleeve (if included) into the kit. Secure the metal sleeve by using a screwdriver to bend the sleeve's metal tabs into place. In other cases, you attach the mounting kit to the new stereo first, then secure both in the dash with screws.

Since electrons flow along the surface of a conductor and not through the conductor, a conductor of equivalent size with more and finer strands can carry more current.

If a harness is not available for your vehicle or if the factory stereo plug was cut off, you'll need to identify each of the car's stereo wires and connect them to the corresponding wires of your new stereo.

These relay's act as electronic switches that are controlled by the computer or by a manual switch. Once engaged the relay connects a circuit which activates a particular device.
