When fuel ignites in the combustion chamber, the force pushes the piston downward, which in turn moves the crankshaft (see below). The piston attaches to the crankshaft via a connecting rod, aka the con rod. It connects to the connecting rod via a piston pin, and the connecting rod connects to the crankshaft via a connecting rod bearing.

Harnesses are wrapped in a protective covering and then routed and secured throughout the vehicle to protect them from damage. But life for vehicles can get tough. Constant vibration, flexing, exposure to heat and cold, water, ice, and salt can all eventually take a toll on the wiring. Wiring harness damage is also not unusual when a vehicle has been involved in a collision.

A wiring harness in the engine is a set of wires, connectors, and terminals which run all over the vehicle for relaying electric power and information. The harness plays an integral role in connecting a number of important components of a vehicle. The wiring harness is just like the central nervous and circulatory system of a human body which pass information and power throughout the body.
By Hadrien Gratien. Fuse Box Wiring. Published at Tuesday, February 20th 2018, 15:04:21 PM. Almost everything in a car is wired through a fuse. Fuses are designed to fail when too much current is drawn through the device. This prevents heating of the wires and subsequent melting of the insulation, followed usually by fire!

Actually, every object has an electrical charge, but most are so small they are impossible to detect. To power something like a motor, we have developed man made chemical cells with high electric potential: batteries. Batteries in turn lend power to starting, charging and security systems, lights, ABS, computers, sensors, climate control and onboard accessories. They are probably the first thing you think of when you hear about electricity in automotive applications, but batteries are far from alone in running the system.
By Bertrand Rainier. Engine Wiring. Published at Monday, February 19th 2018, 18:25:32 PM. The engine block is the foundation of an engine. Most engine blocks are cast from an aluminum alloy, but iron is still used by some manufacturers. The engine block is also referred to as the cylinder block because of the big hole or tubes called cylinders that are cast into the integrated structure. The cylinder is where the engine’s pistons slide up and down. The more cylinders an engine has the more powerful it is. In addition to the cylinders, other ducts and passageways are built into the block that allow for oil and coolant to flow to different parts of the engine.

By Lazare Anthelme. Car Electrical Wiring. Published at Monday, February 19th 2018, 10:10:46 AM. An electronic throttle control actuator is responsible for metering air flow into the engine which controls engine speed. A throttle control sensor located near the foot pedal supplies feedback data to the computer which activates the actuator. The throttle control system is integrated into the ABS, cruise control and traction control systems. In older vehicles throttle action was performed by a manually controlled throttle cable which is actuated by the driver's right foot.
