Once the wire problem is located, typically the damaged wire or two can be repaired, or a new piece of wire can be spliced in. But sometimes the damage is more extensive, wires are melted, or a hard-to-reach location makes repair impossible.

A power distribution center is used to route positive battery power throughout the vehicle using relays and fuses. This center is powered directly off of the positive post of the battery using a positive battery cable.

Like most seemingly complicated things, automotive electrical systems are collections of very simple assemblies. And lucky for us, there’s no secret as to how these things work. It boils down to basic technique. Do a few things right and you’re assured many trouble-free years of service.

The engine harness is typically a large bundle of individual wires protected by a shell of insulation and conduit which helps to protect it from the elements. It is often asymmetrical, with the large end close to the fuse box and becoming smaller as it branches out over the engine. Since the various automobile manufacturers have different engine designs which also change over time, engine wiring harnesses are often unique to the year, make and model of a vehicle. Because of its proximity to the engine as well as contaminants on the road, engine wiring harnesses can degrade and require repair or replacement.
By Bertrand Rainier. Engine Wiring. Published at Monday, January 08th 2018, 23:53:35 PM. The crankshaft resides in what’s called the crankcase on an engine. The crankcase is located beneath the cylinder block. The crankcase protects the crankshaft and connecting rods from outside objects. The area at the bottom of a crankcase is called the oil pan and that’s where your engine’s oil is stored. Inside the oil pan, you’ll find an oil pump that pumps oil through a filter, and then that oil is squirted on to the crankshaft, connecting rod bearings, and cylinder walls to provide lubrication to the movement of the piston stroke. The oil eventually drips back down into the oil pan, only to begin the process again
