Alternators are actually small generators capable of turning mechanical into electrical energy. Driven by the engine belt, alternators use a small signal from the battery to energize a field current that turns a rotor inside a set of stators. Since this energy is driven by the polarity of magnetic fields, the current produced as a result changes direction as the rotor turns, producing current in opposite or alternating directions (hence AC). Alternators produce significantly higher currents than initially supplied by the battery, so they are used to recharge the battery itself and power other electrical components.

Many vehicles will go through their entire service life without any issues related to the wiring harness or its connections. But it is not unusual when diagnosing a problem with a vehicle system to eventually locate the root cause at a damaged wire, terminal, or connector.

By Bertrand Rainier. Fuse Box Wiring. Published at Sunday, January 07th 2018, 12:21:04 PM. In many cases, it's useful for you to know how to wire a car fuse box, especially when adding new electrical components to your vehicle. There are 2 main fuse box locations in a car, 1 is plate near the steering wheel; the other is placed under the hood. This is where we’re going to work. The types of wiring in general, are endless because of the different makes of cars having unique wiring systems. This article will only cover what should be the basics for every type of fuse box.

These relay's act as electronic switches that are controlled by the computer or by a manual switch. Once engaged the relay connects a circuit which activates a particular device.

The crankshaft is what converts the up and down motion of the pistons into a rotational motion that allows the car to move. The crankshaft typically fits lengthwise in the engine block near the bottom. It extends from one end of the engine block to the other. At the front of the end of the engine, the crankshaft connects to rubber belts which connect to the camshaft and delivers power to other parts of the car; at the back end of the engine, the camshaft connects to the drive train, which transfers power to the wheels. At each end of the crankshaft, you’ll find oil seals, or “O-rings,” which prevent oil from leaking out of the engine.
By Mathis Camille. Fuse Box Wiring. Published at Sunday, January 07th 2018, 08:32:19 AM. The conductor inside the fuse is made of a metal similar to solder. It has a lower melting point than the wire itself. The size of the conductor is calibrated very carefully so that when the rated current is reached, enough heat is generated to melt the conductor and so break the circuit.

If there is no connector pin, unscrew the fuse box connector screw with a screwdriver. Strip 1/2 inch of sheathing from the wire with a wire crimper tool. Slide the bare wire under the connector and tighten the screw.
