When batteries discharge they emit a constant DC power in one direction, supplying electricity through the positive terminal to the negative. Most automotive components require this DC charge to work properly, but it is limited because batteries will eventually discharge completely, with no remaining power to give.

It is highly recommended that you use an amperage that is higher than the needs of the accessories you’re going to plug into. The issue here is that, if the wires cover maybe the same or less amperage, they can pull more electrical current causing overheating in the wires. If the accessories pull more power, try to connect them to the battery right into the positive terminal avoiding the fuse box.

Once the spring clips or bolts are removed, you can slide the radio off of the rail. Because this rail can sometimes interfere with the chassis of a new radio, it may have to be removed too. Something to keep in mind: once this is done, you often cannot reinstall the factory radio.

The primary source of this electricity is the vehicle's battery. When the engine is running, the battery is charged by a part of the engine called the alternator. Before it is distributed, the electricity travels through the fuse box, where fuses on each circuit prevent components from receiving too much power in the event of an electrical disturbance. Different wiring harnesses then distribute the electricity to the engine and throughout the vehicle.

You will also want to leave enough room around the sides of the amp to connect wiring and make adjustments for boost, crossover, and other factors. Typical amplifier mounting locations include under the passenger side dash, under a seat, or in the trunk or hatch area. There are pro's and con's to each choice. Under the dash or seat keeps the wiring to the receiver shorter, but can be awkward to install. The seat may need to be temporarily removed. The trunk/hatch area is easily accessed, but wires then need to be routed the length of the vehicle. Cargo capacity can be compromised.

Along the crankshaft you’ll find balancing lobes that act as counterweights to balance the crankshaft and prevent engine damage from the wobbling that occurs when the crankshaft spins. Also along the crankshaft you’ll find the main bearings. The main bearings provide a smooth surface between the crankshaft and engine block for the crankshaft to spin.

The battery supplies all of the power to keep the entire electrical system running, with the assistance of the alternator which ensures that the battery maintains its power. The initial portion of your engine wire harness carries electricity from the battery t the fuse box where it is further distributed.

There’s nothing wrong with a one-wire alternator but theoretically they aren’t as effective as their OEM-style counterparts of equal capacity. It’s because one of the additional wires in an OEM-style alternator senses the system voltage.
