Inside the PDC are many fuses and relays which protect and control the many electrical circuits such as fuel pump and fuel injection systems. Fuses are used to safeguard electrical circuits and are designed to pop stopping the voltage flow in the event of a power overload or short circuit protecting the circuit wire from burning.

The solution is a set of diodes that serve as a kind of electrical check valve for current coming out of the alternator. Diodes only allow current to flow in one direction, so when AC goes in on one side, only DC comes out on the other.

These harnesses usually include a color-coded wiring diagram for connecting the harness to your new stereo. Your new stereo will also include a radio wiring diagram in the owner's manual. Refer to the two diagrams to confirm the car stereo wire colors that need to be connected to the adapter harness. The nice thing is that you can make these connections on a workbench, desk, or kitchen table without having to be inside the vehicle.

The electrical system is a complex but essential part of what keeps your car starting, running, charging and doing the little, but important, things like locking the doors. And while voltage in automotive systems is much lower than say, household applications, it’s still important to enlist the guidance of a professional when making a diagnosis or beginning repairs because many components are extremely sensitive and can be easily damaged without proper training and knowledge.
By . Fuse Box Wiring. Published at Saturday, January 13th 2018, 07:00:41 AM. If you are having a problem with an electrical component in your vehicle the first place to start is in the fuse box. Most cars have a few different fuse boxes. Most of the time, one is in the engine bay and a second is in the vehicle somewhere under the dash or on a kick panel. The engine bay fuse box usually holds the larger fuses for things like the alternator, electric fans or starter. The fuse panel inside usually houses the smaller fuses for things like the brake lights, clock and radio. There will be a diagram of which fuse goes to what on the underside of the cover or in your owner’s manual. Find the fuse for the component you are having problems with and pull it out. If the glass or plastic appears dark or burnt the fuses is probably blow and should be replaced.

Naturally the chassis and body need to ground on the same component, but Fox suggested grounding critical components like the headlights, taillights, and dashboard directly to the engine block or transmission.

This unit creates electrical power by utilizing a magnetized armature and outer copper windings which are connected to the battery using brushes. While in operation (engine running) this unit supplies electrical power for the vehicle while charging the battery at the same time.
