When you replace that radio, these warning sounds are lost, and that's dangerous. Thus, these vehicles require a special harness to keep these audible tones working when you install a new stereo. Fortunately, these harnesses also take care of all of the basic stereo connections.

The electrical system is a complex but essential part of what keeps your car starting, running, charging and doing the little, but important, things like locking the doors. And while voltage in automotive systems is much lower than say, household applications, it’s still important to enlist the guidance of a professional when making a diagnosis or beginning repairs because many components are extremely sensitive and can be easily damaged without proper training and knowledge.

Sometimes you install the kit in the dash, then slide the new stereo's metal mounting sleeve (if included) into the kit. Inside the grooves piston rings are put in. The piston rings are the part that actually touch the walls of the cylinder. They are made from iron and come in two varieties: compression rings and oil rings. The compression rings are the top rings and they press outward on the walls of the cylinder to provide a strong seal for the combustion chamber. The oil ring is the bottom ring on a piston and it prevents oil from the crankcase from seeping into the combustion chamber. It also wipes excess oil down the cylinder walls and back into the crankcase.

Insert the DIN tools into the holes on either side of the unit until you hear a click. The tools serve to release the spring clips and also hook onto the sides of the stereo so that you can pull it out easily. Spread the tools apart slightly then pull the stereo out of the dash.
