It’s a thermo-setting plastic, which means it has a molecular structure that cross-links into very durable chains. And like other thermo-setting plastics, like polyurethanes, it remains pliable and resists oxidation and abrasion to a far greater degree.

Before performing any work on your vehicle always be sure to disconnect and ideally, remove the battery from the vehicle. You should be able to take off the negative, then positive terminal clamps with a socket wrench, and then set the battery somewhere cool, out of the sun, and away from your work space.

Alternators are actually small generators capable of turning mechanical into electrical energy. Driven by the engine belt, alternators use a small signal from the battery to energize a field current that turns a rotor inside a set of stators. Since this energy is driven by the polarity of magnetic fields, the current produced as a result changes direction as the rotor turns, producing current in opposite or alternating directions (hence AC). Alternators produce significantly higher currents than initially supplied by the battery, so they are used to recharge the battery itself and power other electrical components.

Although rare, a few high-powered stereos require you to make a direct constant power connection at the positive terminal of your vehicle's battery. This requires a heavier gauge power wire, an in-line fuse (usually included), and a ring terminal to connect the power wire to the battery clamp. You will have to route the power wire to the battery location, which is often through the vehicle firewall and into the engine compartment in order to make the connection at the battery.

This is the amperage the accessory is rated for and it is only safe to use the accessory at or below this rating. Amperage ratings are listed in the accessories manual near the beginning of the installation section.

The fuse box takes power from the battery, which is in turn charged by the alternator, and protects the wires in the harness against surges that could damage sensitive components. The wiring harness provides a series of connections that allow experienced mechanics and vehicle owners to narrow down problems to specific systems and electrical connections, making it easier to work on the vehicle’s electronics.
By Jeannot Ludovic. Engine Wiring. Published at Tuesday, December 19th 2017, 14:34:00 PM. The crankshaft resides in what’s called the crankcase on an engine. The crankcase is located beneath the cylinder block. The crankcase protects the crankshaft and connecting rods from outside objects. The area at the bottom of a crankcase is called the oil pan and that’s where your engine’s oil is stored. Inside the oil pan, you’ll find an oil pump that pumps oil through a filter, and then that oil is squirted on to the crankshaft, connecting rod bearings, and cylinder walls to provide lubrication to the movement of the piston stroke. The oil eventually drips back down into the oil pan, only to begin the process again

The fuse box protects the circuits. For example, if you think about the ignition, the defroster or the heater, they all have a fuse designated for them which will burn out if there's any malfunction.
